The family of Sabari Baharom, 62, who has been missing for nearly three weeks, believes he may have been put under a spell and taken to a remote location, causing the police search to stall. His son, Muhammad Amir Hakimi, 25, is convinced his father is still alive and in poor condition. The family has turned to religious prayers and traditional healers for help.
About 15 Islamic healers and shamans, including from Indonesia and Sarawak, have contacted the family, all claiming Sabari is alive. Meanwhile, police continue to investigate, but no new leads have emerged.
Sabari disappeared after leaving his home in Baling in a Proton Waja, which was later found burnt in Sik. His phone is unreachable, and a large sum of money was withdrawn from his bank account two days after his disappearance.
