As of July 15, the raw water reserves at the Muda Dam in Kedah and the Bukit Merah Dam in Perak have dropped significantly to 15.20% and 19.54%, respectively, posing a critical water shortage.
Today, the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) reported that five other dams have water reserves below the warning threshold of 59.99%, according to a statement
Among the dams listed, Malut Dam (37.19%), Pedu Dam (48.10%) in Kedah, Teluk Bahang Dam (35%) and Air Hitam Dam (51.30%) in Penang, and Timah Tasoh Dam (42.60%) in Perlis all have water reserves below the critical threshold, as reported.
The level of remaining raw water reserves is categorized as dangerous when it falls below 29.99%, a warning level between 30% and 59.99%, and normal when it reaches 60% and above.
