Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has called on all social media platforms in the country to include disclosures for content created with AI. This measure aims to prevent potential issues related to AI-generated posts.

As reported by Bernama, Fahmi emphasized that social media platforms should take responsibility for the content on their sites. He specified that posts created using Generative AI should include a label stating “Generated by Artificial Intelligence.”

Fahmi believes these disclosures will help users identify AI-created content. He also mentioned that the government’s decision to impose licensing requirements on social media platforms is partly due to the lack of accountability in managing such content.

This statement comes in response to a video circulating online that used Deep Fake technology to impersonate popular influencer and entrepreneur Khairul Aming.
