KUALA KUBU BARU: The magistrate's court here has set two new dates for influencer Nurul Shuhada Mat Shukri to attend court after she failed to appear for today's mention session.

Magistrate Nurul Izzah Hasan Basri set May 8 and 13 as the final dates for Shuhada, 31, who is also the ex-wife of actor Hafidz Roshdi.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Asmah Che Wan informed the court that Shuhada was unable to attend today's proceedings from Australia, as her son, Umar, was barred from boarding the plane after it was confirmed he had a fever.

"The court offered for the complainant to appear today. However, as per the letter I filed on Jan 17, I was informed that the complainant in this case had already purchased a flight ticket from Australia to Malaysia.

"She, however, was stopped (not allowed to board the flight) at the airport, and I understand her child was blocked from boarding the flight due to fever.

"As stated in the attached letter, on the same day, Australia was experiencing a measles outbreak, and individuals showing symptoms of fever and rashes are prohibited from boarding planes.

"As a result, the complainant had to cancel the flight ticket because her child could not board the plane," she said.

Lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, who appeared on behalf of Hafidz, said his client opposed Shuhada's absence and raised concerns about the illogical flight ticket purchase.

"I say this case should be 'dismissed' because she is not showing interest. This case is already settled, and she has withdrawn the report.

"So, I said this is the 11th date. There is no point because she cannot defy the civil court order as she will face issues.

"She didn't show up today either, so the judge gave the final date, and we accept that," he told Harian Metro.

Hafidz, 31, however, declined to comment when asked by the media on Shuhada's absence and the development of the case.

Meanwhile, Shuhada, when contacted, explained the situation at the airport after she was unable to board the flight because her child was diagnosed with fever.

"Right now, there's a lot of buzz here about an outbreak, and any individual found to be unwell will not allowed to board the flight," she said.

It was previously reported that Nurul Izzah ordered Shuhada to attend court after she decided to withdraw the police report and did not want to proceed with the assault case, which occurred on July 6 of the previous year.
